The character of Arthur Colonna returns in this historical fiction epic which brings the reader to
Renaissance Italy during the life and times of the master artist Michelangelo. Professor
Colonna seeks only to teach his class about the art and life of the famous artist at a
University in Chicago but soon he and his two youngest sons learn about an ancient
legend from the curator of a traveling Exhibit on the Art Works of Michelangelo and the
Medici Family who took the teen artist under their wing so that his talent might be fostered.
Soon they find themselves involved in the political intrigue, murder, mystery and miracles of
centuries past brought into the 21st Century through the voluptuous curator, Agnes la Strega.
With her help Colonna and sons take his class to Italy where under the cloak of a
classical tour they seek to discover the truth about the MAGI RING said to hold supernatural
powers. They however are not alone, for an ancient confraternity dedicated to controlling the
power of the Ring also seeks its hiding place.
With the beauty of present day Italy and Renaissance Italy as a background the Legendary Tale
introduces the reader to the young artist as he develops his skills to create some of the
world's greatest masterpieces such as the Pieta and Sistine Chapel Ceiling in Rome and
the Giant David sculpture in Florence.
But the reader is also there as Michelangelo questions his faith,
tackles his understanding of sexual development, learns of love, friendship, and family
loyalty. And all this is seen through the eyes of a teacher and his class who experience
those same issues all while they
seek a gift said to come from the Three Magi of Bethlehem fame with
the power to control one's very soul.
